Title:

“Voornes Duin - Winter aan zee”  ( AVP©2009)

Description:

The Dunes of Voorne is abounding with water. Best known, is probably the ”Quackjeswater”, just behind the dunes. The adjacent sanctuary ”De Pan” is quite different, with its dry hilly landscape.
Continuous severe frost changes Voornes Duin into fairylike surroundings, like it was rarely seen. Incoming mist settled down as artistic ice crystals. Heavily loaded fragile branches defy their icy burden. Fine threads of a cobweb looks like vulnerably ice crystal.
Only the berries of the thorny bushes provide for some colour in these arctic surroundings. Many birds end up drunk after eating the fermenting berries. A couple of roe deer chase each other. The remarkable cattle for once dissolves in their white environment.
Skaters thoroughly enjoyed themselves on the lake in the dunes, until the moon rises above ”Heveringen”, the eldest part of Voornes Dunes.
A unique landscape, captured by Augustijn Video Productions. In winter at sea.
