Title:

“Shooting in Kenya”  ( AVP©2010)

Description:

Shooting in Kenya. It happens every day. Friends of the Elephant even encourages shooting in Kenya. Evidently only with a camera. The elephant deserves to be protected against its worst enemy; man! Change of climate, poaching, blocking year long used corridors, expanding arable land, they are all circumstances to which the elephants have no defence. The AVP film crew shows how the recordings were made in an environment in which the elephants live. More often than not it is hard work in the bush. With a heavy 4-wheel drive unknown areas are discovered, like Kibwezi Forest. For a better understanding visits are made to Sheldricks  Wildlife Trust,  the Giraffe Centre and the crocodiles in Mamba’s Village, all situated near to Nairobi. The elephants share their territory with other orphans, like the black Rhino Maalim in the nursery and little Dik-dik in Ithumba. Together with Louis Drent the foster parents are sketched a picture how the orphan elephants are doing. To serve as an example to shoot with a camera as much as one can, to convince others the importance that the elephant deserves a carefree future.
