Title:

“Friends of the Elephant 15 years”  ( AVP©2010)

Description:

Rob Faber shows enthusiasm for the elephants as long as 15 years. To commit Friends to that very one objective. To offer a future to traumatised orphan elephants. In Kenya, but also in Thailand and Sri Lanka. Turbulent times with successes and disappointments. Only persistence and motivation of this little great man, caused Friends of the Elephant to become internationally recognized.
Together with footage made available by Friends of the Elephant, AVP produced an anniversary film. A film that asks for awareness. A mirror in which particularly the elephant itself plays a role during these roaring times. Men pushing forward into nature, climate change, poaching. In Thailand the elephant is deemed to become a working elephant and tourist attraction. Just outside Chiang Mai Lek raised her Elephant Nature Park. Supported by Friends of the Elephant Lek and orphan ”Faa Mai” are inseparable. Sri Lanka faces shrinking of the elephant population by 85 percent to reach maximum 3.000 wild elephants. Since 2003 the Elephant Transit Home was able to release 65 elephants into the wild.
It’s party time! Thanks to the success story of a motivated team, which offers elephants a future, so that our offspring can look forward to a future in the manner, nature was meant to be. With personal acknowledgements to Rob by Dr Dame Daphne Sheldrick.
