Never Give Up
Kenya, the pearl of East Africa, is suffering from the most severe drought ever.
Animals that can go, leaves the area. Many others face a fate without glory .
The film shows in two parts how nature is meant to be. Only the strongest survive the extreme drought of 2009.
Hippos find no food. Thousands of buffalo roam through the dry barren land of Tsavo. Elephants fall victim to predators.
Even by foot the film crew continues along the red carpet of Tsavo.
The film follows a herd of elephants, guided by an emaciated matriarch. Along tracks their parents walked on.
Full of danger.
On their unique way nature tries to survive.
A peak in births follows amongst the impalas when the rains poor down on the Masai Mara. That is also when the most spectacle show of the world begins. The migration of well over 2 million ungulates. Wildebeest cannot always avoid the death rolls of the voracious Nile crocodiles.
When in October the Wildebeest return to the Serengeti in Tanzania, the Masai Mara remains largely deserted.
Before long the trial to survive begins again.
Never Give Up.
