de Eifel

Millions of years ago the earth erupted. Wolves dominated the forests, which were largely inhabited by majestic
red deer and wild boars. High up in the sky birds of prey circled in search of prey.

Now only the beautiful nature and deep crater lakes are left as a reminder of the forces of nature.

Crowds of tourists become infatuated each year by the cosy little towns with their craftsman houses.

We follow the ladies traveller, Ria and Riet, on their journey through the German Volcanic Eifel.

The rutting season is on. Majestic deer are in combat to protect a tremendous herd of female red deer. Wild boars are spading the forest ground. Whilst the falconer performs his show, dark shadows are silently sneaking through the forest. Germany takes in wolves again.

Major attractions are towns like Monschau, Monreal and Cochem, the latter of which is known as the centre of the Moselle wines.

Augustijn Video Productions (AVP) takes you along to see the best of the Eifel.
